Previously, Phra Buddha Maravichai or Phra Buddha Chao Trus Nai Kuang Mai Phia Maha Pho was installed in Wat Khao In of Sawankhalok City. The temple located on the top of In Mountain was an important monastery in the Sukhothai period. Later, King Rama I ordered to take the Buddha image to restore and install in the front portico of the East assembly hall. King Rama IV renamed the Buddha image as "Phra Buddha Maravichai"
